First steps
Belar was founded in 2001, emerging from the industrial background of a family with decades of experience in materials processing. At a time when the recycling of plastics was still a niche topic, the founders saw an opportunity: to give new life to waste materials through technical precision.
The company’s early focus on R-PET (sourced from post-consumer bottles) set the tone for a hands-on, engineering-driven approach. With just one extruder and a strong commitment to quality, Belar began working with select partners on high-volume processing. Those foundational years laid the groundwork for a new vision: transforming recovery into innovation, and plastic waste into engineered potential.

In 2011, Belar was already a trusted partner in plastic reprocessing. But we saw something more: the potential to evolve from a contract-based operation into a center of applied innovation. Drawing on management’s prior international market experience and a deep understanding of industrial needs, the company reoriented the business toward proprietary formulations, technical consulting, and high-performance recycled materials.
This approach combined strategic thinking with practical execution, opening new markets, building a robust R&D network, and laying the foundation for Belar’s distinctive positioning today: performance-driven, customer-focused, and circular by design.

Belar operates under a certified ISO 9001 quality management system, ensuring that every process, from sourcing to production, meets rigorous standards of control, traceability and consistency. Quality isn’t treated as a checkpoint but as a structure that supports everything we do.
To guarantee performance and reliability, we rely on an in-house laboratory equipped for mechanical and chemical testing. Each batch is sampled at multiple stages, analyzed and archived, allowing us to deliver repeatable results and full documentation. Our test protocols not only validate material specifications, they inform new developments. This integration between production and testing is what allows Belar to turn recycled plastics into high-performing, trusted materials.
